ADVERT REVIEW: ONE OF MAGGI’S ADVERT “NO WONDER…”

But I really love the face of this food; “o di no (it’s)” so inviting!
Is this Boss lady in the Maggi Advert Chef Chioma, as in Davido’s girlfriend? There is just one way to find out about this; in essence, I may have to google it up to get verified answers. Hold on just for a second while I check it up….
Okay, I don’t think so
In the first scene, a mother of two while cooking in the kitchen stretches forth her hand to taste the food after which she goes over to the cupboard to get Maggi seasoning cubes (How many seconds will it take to show her putting the Maggi star on the food, rather they removed that scene.)
In the second scene, she is seen sending her children off to school.
In the third scene, she is seen preparing for work while her husband (I believe) commends her look
In the fourth scene, she is seen at her work place teaching the benefits of Soya during a meeting. After the meeting, she visits Maggi Star food site and checks the recipe to making a particular meal she sights on their page.
After the close of work, she branches to the market to buy exact ingredients she would need to make the same food she had seen in the Maggi food page. From the market, she heads straight to her house where her husband and gate man help offload from the boot items gotten from the market.
She is seen preparing the same meal she had seen on the Maggi Star food site. The food is ready, she takes a picture of it and uploads to which she gets a lot of likes
The husband and children soon join her having perceived the aroma of the food

THE MESSAGE IN THE ADVERT
If you want to make a cooking statement, as in you want to make a difference in your cooking away from the typical taste, then you just have to go for Maggi Star. Maggi brings out the best in your meal.
THE SUMMARY OF THE ADVERT
A lady doesn’t only make a difference at her place of work or when taking care of her family, but she also makes a difference in the kitchen which is made possible with the help of Maggi Star; shikena!
“No wonder” “No wonder” No wonder” were the two words I said to myself after watching this advert. No wonder what you may ask? No wonder I hardly felt the family connection especially between the husband and wife; the lady worked from morning till evening nonstop. Check out the scene she returned from the market, no proper form of greeting one’s spouse. She was perhaps exhausted.
She is a “Superwoman” indeed like Maggi used in the advert- doing everything all by herself and this I am sure cost her the good rapport with her husband. Even the husband was not helpful in taking care of the kids or doing anything, all he waited for was the food; although he helped her offload the boot.
Since I have been watching family adverts that featured a man and a woman as husband and wife, this is indeed the worst couple I have seen. Infact, after watching the advert, I had to ask if they were actually husband and wife. Honestly, I really did not feel the couple bond; no facial connection, hugs, pecks, kisses, nothing that indicated closeness especially when she returned from work. She just directed her husband and the gateman to offload the boot. Even when the husband smiled, she did not return his smile; so zero closeness
“I am a caregiver” caregiver limited to only children
“Slayer” only for outside but the husband is not included.
“Boss lady” she indeed looks like one in the family. I think she is rigid.
“I am the magnet that brings my family together” Yes you don’t need to explain, na only you dey do everything; superwoman.
Ehen, moving on, if only I can just get the name of the person that shot the advert…Biko, esteemed readers, do you have an idea? Really, the person that shot this advert did a poor work. He could not capture the family of just four, four pere (only) together. He either showed only the children or their parents; very poor (in Asin’s voice in the movie Ghajini)
I don’t even know the essence of the last scene where the closed the fridge and cupboard like a robot and then threw the apron on the floor. So, why exactly did she throw the apron on the floor now?
Poor continuity as well, she went to the cupboard to get the Maggi star to add to whatever was on fire but the scene was removed before she sprinkled the Maggi on the food. And did you all notice, it seemed like she was staring ordinary water. So, why should she be tasting ordinary water like say na soup she dey make?
For that food picture on Maggi Page, how come the picture is not related to the question being asked? They asked about how to preserve Iru not how to make rice garnished with vegetable and all sorts, so, the picture on that post should be Iru not a plate of rice.
Finally, we can’t talk about the ill side of the advert without also commending that which is commendable. I love the kitchen, neat and well arranged with the necessary kitchen utensils- plates, cutlery, pots etc. I can see the neat Napkins. That’s all!
Maggi star is one of the products of Nestle. Nestle is a food manufacturing and marketing company. They make foods like Maggi (Maggi Star Cube, Maggi Crsyfish, Maggi Chicken, Ginger and Garlic, Golden Beef and Classic) Golden morn, cerelac, nutrend, Nan and Lactogen. They make beverages like Milo, Choco Milo, Nido, Nescafe and Nestle Pure life
- Thank God that food was garnished, if not it would have looked like concussion, as in it looks like palm oil rice
- Why did the husband exhale like that after seeing those food items in the boot, na today im dey carry am; he wants to eat food only and not help out ba?
- I can’t feel the couple bond
- Is that last scene supposed to be funny? Why did she throw her apron on the floor? She is through with cooking/ So na floor dem dey throw apron?
- On that IG post, what she was reading was how to preserve “Iru” well known as locus beans to which someone replied that she sun dries it to prevent molds from forming. The picture on that post should be iru not plate of rice. How exactly does the picture relate to the question?
- Why is that guy smiling, the real husband is not smiling and he is smiling
- Was she turning soup, I don’t think so, the spatula says otherwise, like it is just water. So she is tasting water; okay o
- So terrible, when she got home, not even a smile or hug or peck or any facial contact with the husband. She just left him and some other guy to offload the boot…Phew!
- See the way she even pointed to the boot to the driver, even when the husband was smiling at her, she did not return the smile. She is so rigid and the closeness with the husband is zero.
REMARK: This advert could have been better if the husband and wife bonded well and the husband was helpful. Also, the shots were not properly captured.
