MOVIE REVIEW: CELEBRITY MARRIAGE “WHICH COUPLE GOT ALL YOUR 32 TEETH OUT?”
Nna mhen, I love this movie, “tori toru” This is the kind of movie viewers end up saying “Odi very interesting” after viewing. If you have been looking for a very funny movie that is interesting as well, then, looku looku no further. This is the film! I am not just saying it, I am screeching; it is ribs cracking!
I laughed my ass out all through this movie, as in, I have not watched such an enthralling Nigerian English movie in a long while. Yeah, we have given a breakdown of the season 1-6 of the movie in the last few weeks on Ogefash Blog, you can view here @ http://www.ogefash.reviews
The movie “Celebrity Marriage” was basically about the lifestyle of celebrities; the unmarried, married and divorced celebrities. The movie shed more light on the dilemma faced by the celebrities as well as the dilemma caused by them.
The movie pointed out that in most celebrity marriages, the celebrities are either the victims of domestic violence or their spouses. The movie focused more on 4 couples.
The first couple I want to talk about is Rita (Acted by Toyin Abraham) and Farouq (Acted by Odunlade Adekola). Rita was a famed actress and award winning screenwriter, but her husband- Farouq was not; Farouq was just a business man(Though, I don’t know the kind of business he was into. All he did was just to carry his bag and then step out of the house) Farouq was always beating his wife- Rita. He was always angered anytime her numerous fans hugged her or took selfies with her. Farouq hardly allowed Rita to go out. Meanwhile, Rita always pretended and lied to her friends and fans that all was well with her marriage. Most people believed her but not Victoria (Acted by Jackie Appiah) who could read the writing on the wall and knew that her friend was constantly battered by her husband- Farouq. Rita would always smile outdoor but as soon as she was indoor, the smile always disappeared, but she chose to remain married. Despite the fact that her husband was working, he left Rita to take care of all bills; school fees/provision of their children, house rent, utility bills and so on. The day Rita tried to fight Farouq back for the first time, he beat her mercilessly. Mtchew! just when I thought she was going to win him for the first time in the whole scenes of the movie.
Talking about scenes, I think this couple got the most scenes out of the four major couples. Hold up, let me count…. Okay, just did, they actually had 12 scenes. Well, why won’t it be so, when they were practically the funniest couple in the movie. Gush! They really made me laugh all through the movie. Moreover, they had funny facial expressions. They really interpreted their roles very well.
For that Farouq, the most annoying part was when he had to cheat on his wife with that asewo unmarried actress Ify (Acted by Francess Brown), and I am like, if he was complaining that his famed actress wife had no time for him, so why then jump to another actress? What kind of time would an upcoming actress have for him compared to a famous actress like his wife? An upcoming actress would always jump at both garbage and non-garbage strict just to keep herself busy and then eventually earn her fame. They are always in most locations, whether they are wanted or not. While the popular ones are selective of the kind of movies they play in.
The second couple in the movie is Steph (Tonto Dike) and Tubosun (Acted by Felix Omokhodion). Steph was another famed actress married to Tubosun- a business man. Tubosun’s father died and as the only child and son, automatically became the heir of his father’s company- Unique Communication which was managed by his uncle Mr. Gabriel- (Acted by Kanay.O.Kanayo). Tubosun was expected to take over the company after he must have gone for his PhD abroad (Abeg my people, how PhD com become a prerequisite to take over father’s company?)
Meanwhile, Steph was sleeping around with Tubosun’s Uncle- Mr. Gabriel. They both planned on overthrowing him from his father’s company which Tubosun was unaware of. Thanks to Steph’s village friend- Juliet (Acted by Calista Okoronkwo) who exposed her to her husband. Although, not her plans to overthrow him, but her infidelity.
For Steph, I sincerely do not see any reason for the constant changing of wigs, it is unprofessional!
This couple also interpreted their roles well and had about 12 scenes in the season 1- 6 of the movie just like Rita and Farouq

Another couple was the famed singer Lotanna (Acted by Jimmy Odukoya) and his wife Anu (Acted by Roselynn Ngissah). Anu was the only child and daughter of Mr. Gabriel, the man who was managing his brother’s company- Unique Communication till his son Tubosun who is also his nephew was ready to take over the company. Lotanna always had his way with ladies apparently because of his physique. He once dated Steph and jilted her for Victoria (Jackie Appiah). He also jilted Victoria for Anu because of her father’s money. This made Steph resent Victoria and ask Mr. Gabriel to remove her from the list of ambassadors for Unique Company.
Meanwhile, Rita’s new movie brought Victoria and Lotanna together and they continued their love affair. This made the faithful Lotanna (I mean, I think he was faithful to Anu, though he didn’t like her. Why did I say he was faithful? From his discussion with his manager- Lakeside {Acted by Osita iheme}, I could tell he was the faithful spouse. Lotanna turned down a minister’s advance!) start cheating on his wife Anu. Whereas, Victoria was already married but since her husband was far away in some other country playing ball and making money for them, she decided to keep having sex with Lotanna in her matrimonial bed. But all that was exposed by her blogger friend- Joan (Acted by Susan peters) after which her husband kicked her out of his house. The funny part was when her blogger friend- Jane had the effrontery to even approach Victoria for the type of car to buy after exposing her secrets and reaping 10 million naira off it. Also, Victoria and Lotanna were constantly ton drugs.
More so, Victoria was also a bisexual, she was having sex with Nkechi (Acted by Charity Nwoke). Nkechi was also having sex with Agnes (Princess Shyngle). Apparently the only saint in the movie was Cindy (Chinenye Uyanna)
This couple had just 6 scenes.
(What exactly did Juliet now tell Tubosun…? So he was not interested in knowing whom his wife was cheating on him with
The last couple is Felicia (Acted by Chioma Nwosu) and Emeka (Acted by Francis Odega). Now I think they were both in the movie industry but the wife was more popular than the husband. Felicia felt her husband was cheating on her so she wanted to tie him down with a charm but it didn’t work. Felicia constantly intimidated him and made it a daily rhyme to always remind Emeka that she picked him from the gutters and would throw him back there. They were the least famous celebrity in the movie- their scenes were so countable. I think they had just four scenes. They did not even appear in the season 3-6.
Generally, this is such a nice movie. The movie has got a lot of stars, and very interesting ones at that. You just have to love this movie. All the actors acted well. Kudos to the writer and director of this drama- no flaws except that the writer seemed to have a lot of scenes for Rita and Farouq as well as Tubosun and Steph compared to other couples. Also, a large percentage of the scenes were morning. What happened to the afternoon and evening scenes?
Also, I can’t help but notice the exquisite setting. I must really commend the effort of whoever was in charge of the location. Infact, I score the person a 100 over 10; that is beyond an excellent mark. All the houses used in the production got me staring and made my jaw open wide. Like seriously all the houses used are WOW! Like, where exactly did they use? I need to know. However, a close look at all the houses used in the movie, one can tell that it is the same house they used all through the movie but different rooms. This looks more like a rev…
Also, one noticeable effort by the movie makers was the first scene of the movie- Season 1 precisely. Everything about the wedding looked real- the whole scenario associated with a wedding was what was embedded in the wedding. For instance, I saw where a woman was putting a drink in her bag (LMAO). I also saw the lady that was trying to seduce people. There was the chairman of the ceremony, the mc and of course the item 7. Not to forget the throwing of bouquet by the unfaithful bride where an older woman also came out to try her luck. Awwwww! But she did not catch the bouquet.
Ehen, that reminds me, some of these celebrities don’t even save like the case of Lotanna. They just live their lives like there is no tomorrow. I think he was the biggest loser in the movie. Just imagine the way his life ended. The only industrious person in the movie was Rita, who worked so hard to make money. And Rita’s husband? The sucker was rich but never spent on his wife.
I think the funniest scene in this movie to me was the season 2 @ the 45 minutes of the video where Victoria came visiting Rita and Farouq, where Farouq was using all manners of words in the disguise of film title to drive Victoria away from their house. Did you see the way both Rita and Farouq jugged out in the season 2@ the 53 minutes of the video
By the way, what kind of singer be this Jimmy na, not even once did we ever get to see him on stage, and he is a singer. Singer indeed…

JUST WONDERING
SEASON 1
- How can those maids of honour say a bride went to look for a drug to buy on her wedding day? If you ask me, that excuse is lame, they should have come up with something sensible. Brides always have either families or friends on standby to help get whatever they want from within the hall not to talk of outside the hall. (6minutes 30 seconds)
- How come it took Tubosun (Felix Omokhodion) such a long time to realize that his bride- Steph (Who was by the way having sex somewhere with Tubosun’s Uncle- Mr. Gabriel {Kanayo. O. Kanayo}) has been gone for long.
- @ The 12 minutes 11 seconds of the movie, did I just hear Tubosun say “I am so shock of words?” Uncle it is “I am so short of words!” This should have even be edited, because it was an obvious mistake.
- How come from season 1-6 we do not get to know the content of the letter Mr. Gabriel gave to Steph on her wedding day. View @ 23 minutes 26 seconds
- This Cindy girl (Chinenye Uyanna) was funny or should I say not logical @ the 25 minutes 29 seconds. Ify (Francess Ben) ran into the house half naked, which connotes danger. Ify even told her not to open the door and she still decided to open it. If they had fired a gun, she would have died instantly.
- Cindy asked Ify what happened to her that she ran inside half naked? Ify replied don’t ask me what happened. Then Cidy said I don’t need to ask you what happened because I know what happened. And I am like dude, you just asked her “What happened to you” and here you are saying “I don’t need to ask”
SEASON 2
- @ The 44 minutes of the video- “Harrasing, arising or advicing” Please help me, what did Farouq (Odunlade Adekola) say when he was with his wife Rita
- Victoria and Joan talked about Terry’s gist, which Terry? Is it terry G the singer?

- It is crazy and unprofessional; Tonto Dike’s changing of wigs almost in every scene. It is quite misleading too. Non Nigerians and those in Nigeria that are yet to know her would be confused about the character she played. Every of her scene, they would have to rack their brain to remember where they saw her.
- Gabriel said to Steph, “Do what I like and you will get what you have always wanted.” So I am wondering why they did not let us into what Steph has always wanted…View at the 58 minutes of the movie.
- At the 31 minutes 52 seconds, Anu said jane. Is it Jane or Joan?

SEASON 3 & 4
- Victoria published Rita’s story, but we don’t get to see Farouq’s reaction. Is the writer now telling us that the husband didn’t hear the gist or what?
- I don’t understand 1 hour 10 minutes, Tonto came to see Tubosun and she was told he had traveled. What kind of groom is that? Why wont’t he tell his wife especially newly wedded wife that he was travelling.
- That Rita’s (Toyin Abraham) cloth, abeg is this one off shoulder abi na off breast? View @ 47 minutes of the movie
SEASON 5 & 6
- I swear for once, I thought Rita was going to win her husband- Farouq, but that did not happen. @5 minuts of the video
- What kind of singer be this Jimmy na, not even once did we ever get to see him on stage, and he is a singer..Mbok
- Some background noise at the 12 minutes 6 seconds of the movie
- What happened to the sound at the 14 minutes 20 seconds of the movie when Tubosun (Felix Omokhodion) called Steph (Tonto Dike)? I had to follow the movement of her mouth/ read her lips to decipher her words; it was a reminder of their appointment with the specialist.
- How can a specialist decide to have a private chat with the bride – Steph and the groom- Tubosun doesn’t suspect anything? View at the 17 minutes 13 seconds
- You would be getting a call from big game? Who is big game? View @ the 18 minutes of the movie. Steph told the specialist that he would be getting a call from big game- who is that and though we know the obvious, but their dialogue shouldn’t have been muted. View @ 18 minutes 24 seconds.
- I don’t understand the flashback @ 59 minutes in the season 6. Did Juliet tell Stephanie she was sleeping with Mr. Gabriel, and if she did, how come Steph did not get mad with Mr. Gabriel when they met in his car after their plans had fallen apart?
- In the season 6, did Juliet tell Tubosun his uncle’s plans, so how come we did not see his reaction?
- In the season 6 @ 33 minutes 10 seconds at the hospital, Tubosun wore the same cloth he wore at the 45 minutes of the movie. Is it the same day? Because if it is a different day, then that is not too good….Repeating a costume can confuse the viewers and make it look as if it is still the same day. In Rita’s case, knew what happened…
- Why in Tonto’s name was Steph (Tonto Dike) changing Wigs? That is so unprofessional
- So I am wondering, Farouq decided to leave his actress wife Rita for another actress Nkechi, so how will that actress create time for him too? It doesn’t really make sense.
- In the season 6, why did Rita stick her tongue out? View at he 1 hour 9 minutes of the movie.
- Rita in the last scene said Ify (Francess Brown) was “trying to destroy the happiness she built for years’ That is ridiculous. How can she say she was happy, someone that was always beaten by her husband every day and was left with bruises. View @ 1 hour 9 minutes.
- Tonto Dike really acted unprofessional; to be changing wigs every now and then in a movie, for scenes stipulated for the same day, as in like two times in a day scene; rubbish. It is a way of confusing viewers about the identity of the cast.
- Farouq said the kids were at home @ 20 minute 50 seconds, and I am wondering what kids? We didn’t get to see any of them
- I didn’t understand Rita (Toyin Abraham) whe she said “I want to get married, I want to have kids…@ 28 minutes 45 seconds.
- Gabriel (Kanayo O Kanayo) told Tubosun (Felix Omokhodioan) “Let me teach you one business secret you would need as you grow up” View @ 35 the minutes of the movie. I don’t understand ooo, grow up to where na? A married man kwa? The way he said it like he was talking to a 10 year old boy.

View in season 3 and 4 @ 37 minutes… These two sentences are contradicting…Top of Form@ 47 minutes of season 2, Victoria said Farouq new Rita was a celebrity before he married her. Meanwhile, in the season 4, Farouq said when he married Rita, she was nothing, even he still repeated it in the season 5 @ the 4 minutes of the video

- Terrific beat! It seemed like they were trying to promote an upcoming artiste; that is a good way to go. Atleast the way the actors danced to the songs, made it look like they were really familiar with the song, and this of course drew viewer’s attention to the song and made it pleasing to their ears.

- REMARK: If you are yet to watch this film, the four words I have for you is “What are you waiting for?” Go watch it and thank me later. You certainly wont regret dedicating time to watch the movie. For me, the couple Rita and Farouq made me laugh all through the movie. They were the bestttttt. Their facial expressions, especially that of Odunlade was the bomb!
