MUSIC REVIEW
I totally love this song. One thing that cannot be unnoticed is the use of the drums as one of the instrumentals. Its intensity enhanced the beauty of the song and really made it banging.
Lyrically, the song comes in three verses. The verses one and two were taken by Janet Jackson; verse 2 was a repetition of verse 1, while verse three was taken by Daddy Yankee. Janet Jackson’s verses were pretty concise; just two lines while that of Daddy Yankee’s was 4
They sang the chorus “We are made for now” four times and the-post chorus “Everybody move your body” three times. It also has a bridge “Love is in the rhythm now.”
The artistes sang mostly in English except the verse 3 where Daddy Yankee sang in Spanish.
The lyrics to the song are uncomplicated, comprehensible and interesting.
BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG
In the Verse 1 “If you’re living for the moment, don’t stop,” Janet Jackson emboldens those already living for the moment to continue doing that and never quit. She also says once they have the longing to have a good time, they should go ahead and do so and not hold back. The artiste further says that to live for the moment, one must crush/subdue every blockage just like she did.
In the Chorus “I am made for now, not tomorrow. I am made for now, look around.” the artiste says when you take a gander around her, every day, she is having fun or doing the things that she desires without holding back or pushing them for another day, cause really, no one can promise tomorrow.
In the post-chorus “Everybody move your body, everybody,” the artistes persuade people to dance and make merry.

The song “Made for now” means doing what you strongly desire at the moment without holding back or pushing it to another day. It means rolling a dice to satisfy your immediate desires without worrying about tomorrow.
For instance, it could be an instant spending on something you strongly desire rather than holding back or pushing it to another day which is not certain.
In essence, have fun, do whatever that would make you happy at the moment and don’t hold back. Just like in the video, some people where dancing, some playing cards and so on; that was what was giving them joy at the moment and they didn’t hold back. Live each day like it would be the last not minding the outcome, but don’t be caught doing wrong sha..

LOCATION
The video was shot outdoor; building tops and streets. It was also shot indoor; art studio. The video was shot in America, in Brooklyn. Brooklyn is in New York City.
SOUND
Simple but melodious! Very interesting to the ears! Janet Jackson was expressive as she sang the vocals. She was consistent with the style of rhythm. Her lyrics flowed well with the beat of the song, and when she took the high notes, she did not go out of tune. The instruments were not varied; however, the drum beat really enhanced the rhythm.
COSTUME
Hmmm! Okay, this their costume “di” serious. Most of them wore casuals especially the guys. There were those on the African prints, while some ladies wore crop tops. For JJ’s costume, at some point she wore gowns (the feathered white gown and other kind of designs) and then switched to casual. So if you ask me, costume wise; I would say costumely and colourful for the major artistes, but for some of the dancers, especially the guys , “Eyes rolling.”
Also the backdrop made the video colorful.
VIDEO PRODUCTION
The video complimented the track. They were all having a good time and living for the moment. Janet Jackson plus all those that featured in the video were very expressive and made the video interesting to watch. They were very vibrant. Terrific lightning! The usage and choice of backdrops made the video colouful. I love the backdrop idea- well decorated and colorful which made the video colourful as well. Most of those that featured in the video are no doubt Africans.
