A very melodious tune indeed! However, e b lyk say some people were suffering from the opposite of bad energy and really made the video uninteresting to watch. Okay o, but before I show you, kindly have a gander at the lyrics of the song.

Like I said in the intro, this is a melodious tune. It has great lyrics, but not well arranged. It needs a better lyrical arrangement for all the verses. Will re-arrange just the verse 1

Lyrically, the song has three verses and a chorus taken three times. The verses were taken by Skepta while the choruses by Wizkid. Skepta sang in English while Wizkid sang in pidgin. The lines in each verse are lengthy. The lyrics are meaningful and intellectual which shows his competence in song writing.
WHAT DOES THE SONG “BAD ENERGY” BY SKEPTA FT WIZKID MEAN?
The word “Energy” basically means to have strength to do an activity; to be strong. “Bad energy” on the other hand means to display poor or low strength in an activity.
Hence “Bad Energy” in the context of this song means not being able to keep up sexually with the opposite sex, as in not having the same sexual speed with someone. Or better still, it means that someone has poor or low strength when having sex.
Also, still in the context of the song, it means inability to keep up or be on the same progress speed with the artiste who is aiming for the top.
Generally, the song means low strength when it comes to any physical activity
BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG
In the verse 1 “I’m tryna get paid, take money, cash cheques” Skepta says before his life as a bad guy, he was properly trained and has a good religious background. He also says he is not sloth, but he is working assiduously in order to have plenty money; he puts in much energy in all he does which has taken him to the top. He has made so much that even when he is relaxing, he is still making money. He further says he hasn’t been around for a while because he and Wizkid have been having fun with ladies that are sexual addicts. He also says no one can steal his idea because he is safeguarding it well.
In the Chorus, “ She tell me, “badman, see, I need your love” Wizkid says he doesn’t want any lady that will hook him or tie him down; no continuity. The kind of lady he wants is someone that will get down with him for a night, but the lady must have enough strength to make the night one to remember. He says any lady with poor or low energy should not come close to him.
In the verse 2, “Breakfast in bed on a plane. I could never complain”, the artiste says his progress speed was slow but now he and his crew are set for greatness. He also talks about having fun in the club and hooking up with some girls to turn up. He also says sex is his own kind of exercise; that is how he works out.
In the verse 3, “Ay, they better get used to the flex. African man, you see the jewels on my neck” the artiste talks about different things. He talks about seeing a bigger picture for his career, his countless blessings, how he dumped a lady that was not exciting him and stayed glued to the one that was fun “I tie one- smoke one”. He also talks about a lady that won’t let him be because she wants more of his sexercise for sex. He talks about being no one’s puppet, he says he is answerable to no one and does what he likes. LOCATION
It was shot in Lagos Nigeria. It was shot outdoor all through; at the beach
COSTUME
Nothing spectacular about the choice of costume, they were all looking so….; I don’t know. But just to give an idea of what they wore, the ladies were mostly in bikini and the guys wore casual. There were also those that wore the African prints. Wizkid wore only a short all through the video with no upper garment while Skepta maintained his causal; a jean and a T-shirt.
VIDEO PRODUCTION
Most of those that featured in the video really lack energy, especially the ladies; should I say they have bad energy? No action or seduction; did I just say that? Well, I just did not feel those ladies in the video…
By the way, Wizkid was looking so slim and dark even though the visuals are clear. For me, this video can’t be called “out of the ordinary,” rara!
