“Falz the bad guy should go and show how brilliant he is in court”
That was MURIC’s message to the chap after the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) granted their petition to ban Falz’s video “This is Nigeria”
If you can recall, when Folarin Falana also known as Falz the Bad Guy dropped the video in May, MURIC group (Muslim Rights Concern) under the Director~ Ishaq Akintayo criticised it saying the artiste did not represent the Islamic religion well. He said the video portrayed Fulanis and Muslims as killers. It also showed women in hijab engaging in the notorious ‘Shaku Shaku’ dance.
The group gave him a 7-day ultimatum to withdraw the video or face litigation. But the group felt he shunned them and was boasting because he is a lawyer and his parents are famous lawyers too.
The director of MURIC~ Ishaq Akintola said he and others opted for petition because they felt since the musician is a lawyer, he would find all ways to delay the court case for years and would use every trick in the book to frustrate them.
Leaving Falz with a final word he said “He should be the one to go to court. Let him go and show how brilliant he is.”
Falz has however given him a silent reply.
