THE 10TH EDITION OF LAOYE SCHOOLS’ VALEDICTORY SERVICE

The Laoye schools comprising the Nursery, Primary and Secondary College have again showed that they are the citadel of knowledge in the Nigerian Education System. The school which is situated in a serene and unpolluted environment provides an opportunity for the pupils to swiftly learn in a relaxed mind. It recently held its 10th Valedictory Service and Prize giving day in its environs.

True to its vision of raising excellent, professional and virtuous leaders who are academically balanced to proffer solution to the problems of their environment and the world at large, the school keeps recording 100% both in the junior and senior internal and external examinations. This year’s graduating students are clear proof to this vision as they all came out in flying colours. The students in persons of Kalu Chinenye Eze (Outgoing head girl), Makolo Musa Nicholas (Outgoing head boy), Iheanacho Favour, Bintu Abubakar, Tobechukwu Ugbechie, Ehnimiagbe Faith, Agbonabere isioma, Aknibiyi Ayobami, Adesoye Daniel, Menukanrin Idowu, Ejembi John, Anthony Mojisola P, Kelani Aishat, Etop Jennifer, Agbonabare Isioma, Onouegbuna Victoria and Olarenwaju Oyinkansola came out with distinctions in their various core subjects in the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) putting a smile in the faces of their families and friends as well as the school where they were inculcated  with sound knowledge.

Addressing the graduating students, the proprietress of Laoye Schools Mrs.Omolaoye Elizabeth Olusola, congratulated the outgoing students and enjoined them to shun evil practices as they move on to higher institutions. She congratulated the children as well as the teachers who were instrument to their academic excellence. She also thanked the parents for their continuous care. She also acknowledged the good works of the members of the staff (both teaching and non-teaching) of the school.

In the same vein, the Principal of Laoye School- Mr. Obitayo T Babatunde and the Head Mistress- Mrs.Ihenacho J.C also celebrated the outgoing students and wished them well as they move on to the next phase of academic journey.

The Valedictory service was anchored by Mr. Williams and Mr. Adewuyi – the Vice principals of the school in Academics and Administration respectively whose style of anchoring thrilled the guests. It was a joint celebration for those in the nursery, primary and secondary classes of the school as they all moved to a higher class.

 

The graduating student of the primary section of the school are Taiwo Precious (outgoing headgirl), Tomisin Ogunbase (Outgoing headboy), Oriola Tomiwa, Mina Miracle, Omotayo Isaac, Oluwadarasimi Ashon, Prsicillia Alaba, Bunmi Ijimakinwa, Iwu Emmanuel, Dotun Sobanjo, Oshibote Atinuke.

Speaking with the outgoing head girl of the primary school- Taiwo Precious, she says her experience has the head girl was interesting even though she sometimes gets into trouble because of someone. She says Laoye is the best school. According to her since her days as a toddler till her grown age in the school, the school has been good to her. She says there can’t be any school like Laoye. She thanks her teachers, the members of the staff and mostly the proprietress- Mrs Omolaoye Elizabeth Olusola for her presence all through her primary education and undiluted advice she gives them on assembly ground. She prays that the school continues to grow.

This year’s edition of the Valedictory Service kicked off with the prayer day where all the graduating students were all dressed in white attires. This automatically paved way for the main event which saw a lot enthralling activities being showcased by the vibrant students of the school. There was dance, music and so on, all enough to keep the place bubbling and the guests high spirited. Three outgoing SS3 students-Favour Iheanacho, Onouegbuna Victoria and Bintu Abubakar also came out to talk about their experiences while in the school. The trio said they have quality teachers, matchless inter-house sports, and terrific proprietress who takes them like their children also.

Also worthy of note at the event are the students with outstanding performances awarded with mouth watering prizes in the area of neatness,  most behaved, best student in various subjects as well as the overall best.

Leading the pack of the award winners of the day in the Junior class of the institution was Adeleye Olakunmi

who went home  with the awards for best student in Basic Science, Basic Tech, English Language, Agric, Social Studies, Business Studies. He was also the overall best student in Jss1, Eruwatere Elizabeth in Jss2, Oluwadara Feso in Jss3 respectively.

In the senior class, Iheanacho Divine

went home with most awards. He was the best in Literature in English, Maths, Science, Government and Civic Education. He was also the overall best student in SS1, Olayemi Adebayo in SS2  and Chinenye Kalu Eze in SS3 respectively.

The members of staff were not left behind as both the teaching and non-teaching staff were all gifted in cash and kind. Also, one of the Agric teachers- Mr Gbenga Agbebi gave out prize to the best student in Agriculture. The recipient of the award was Bintu Abubakar.

Laoye schools provide an all-round education from the academic to an opportunity to have a rich performing arts education, team experiences in sports and other activities . They have well balanced curriculum, scintillating cultural activities showcasing not only the country’s culture but the culture of other countries thereby providing students the opportunity to gain a valuable overview of the culture of different countries. The school is always at the top in all competitions. Some of the notable competitions they have won include, Nigerian Television Authority( NTA) quiz competition tagged “TAKE A STEP”, NNPC/CHEVRON ARTS competition tagged “WASTE TO WEALTH”, Tabernacle Of Talents competition tagged “MIX TO WELL”

The school doesn’t only rank well academically but also socially. One of its social activities was the visit to notable places like the Central Bank of Nigeria, Megasea paints factory, Lekki Conservation Center and so on. It is one of the best schools around town as they have the key to unlocking the potential embedded in each child through the qualitative and practical system of studies given to them by the skilled teachers, state of the art facilities and the astute management team. The school has a spacious and a safe daycare where each child is given adequate attention and properly nurtured. It also has the nursery, primary and secondary college where undiluted education is given to the pupils.
