Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. All Muslims observe fasting (SAWN) in this holy month.
The fasting lasts for 29~30 days based on the visual sighting of the crescent moon.
According to Quran2 verse 185, the month of Ramadan is that which was revealed in the Quran; a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of the guidance and the criteria of right and wrong. “And whosoever of you is present, let him fast in the month. (Q2 VS 183)”
