THROWBACK MOVIE: BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN

I don’t know why in “Indian name” Indian films just always have that capability to make tears fill people’s eyes. Most of their films have tragic ending, even their songs will make you cry, but the good thing is that the movie “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” doesn’t have a sad ending, butttt……

Anyway, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a 2015 Indian movie about a little girl called Munni (‎Harshaali Malhotra). Munni was born dumb. She lost touch with her family while travelling with her mum on a certain day (Munni got off the train while everyone was fast asleep and when the train moved, she was unable to catch up; odi serious). She was this kind of girl that Igbos call “Awaghari or Jeghari”, Yorubas call “rin nipa”, and the Hausas call “Tafiya game de”. As in, Munni can walk about for the world; once you blink an eye, she is far gone from where you put her. I am wondering how parents cope with that kind of child sha.

Back to the story

Munni was unable to find her mum. So, the day she got lost, she stumbled on Bajrangi (Salman Khan) and instantly felt connected to him. Fortunately, Bajrangi was a good man different from those heartless men who may have seen it as an opportunity to use her for their greedy sexual purposes. Reluctantly, Bajrangi took Munni to the family house of his fiance- Rasika (Kareena kapoor

Munni’s voiceless nature hindered any possibility of getting information about her family background and returning her home. But one day, while they watched a football match, Bajrangi, Rasika and family were able to tell that she was from Pakistan.

Now, there was this unending conflict between the people of Pakistan and the people of India. Bajrangi felt the strong need to return Munni home. The first attempt he tried, those people he met wanted to pull Munni into prostitution but he was able to deliver her from their hands on time. Bajrangi doesn’t have visa and was ready to break all protocols to return Munni home himself. He entered Pakistan without a visa by crawling under the border fences and now he was accused of being an Indian spy. Going by the hatred between the duos, do you think Bajrangi would come out from Pakistan alive?
