Another “eh eh” naija music song, although the song di kwa (is) very interesting and extremely danceable as well. Infact, I could not stop moving my body to the terrific beat. Though I keep wondering if Nigerian musicians can sing a complete track without using words like “Oooh, eeeh, yeeah, aaah and its likes”- I really doubt it.

THE REVIEW
This song is quite an interesting one though it is another Nigerian song where there is constant use of “eh”. The song has two verses that were pretty short. The repeated chorus was what gave the song the duration of 4 minutes 26 seconds.
The lyrics synced well; I could connect one line to the other… “So come make I tell you oh baby, my beautiful Lady. As you be somebody baby, asampete nwanyi, I’m Crazy”- What this means is that “Paul calls the Lady, reigns praises on her after which he tells her that it hurts him to know that she already belongs to someone else. “Girl e dey pain me say, you be somebody baby. Tah, onono, my African lady eeh”.
KingRudy sang basically in pidgin.
WHAT IS THE SONG “SOMEBODY BABY” BY KING RUDY REALLY ABOUT
It is no doubt a love song. Rudeboy is in love with a damsel he met at the GYM. However, the lady is already taken; she is somebody’s baby. This he sang in the chorus “Mama le, she be somebody baby. Mama le eeehhh, somebody baby eh. Mama le, le, le, na somebody baby. I am in love with the baby eh, but na somebody baby eh”
The lady is in a relationship with a jealous, clingy, over protective wealthy guy played by Jim Iyke. The lady hardly has her privacy as she is always followed by her boyfriend’s bodyguards who are quick to report anything amiss around her. It so happened that one day, the lady’s boyfriend- Jim Iyke saw KingRudy dancing with her and he was seriously dealt with.
Meanwhile, the lady looks fed up of the relationship with her current boyfriend- Jim Iyke; . She wants to give another guy- Rudeboy a chance, but it is quite hard as her boyfriend makes it impossible to; he was just not giving her a breathing space
However, from the last scene of the video, we were made to understand that you can’t mess around with somebody’s baby, so you need to look elsewhere for yours. Even, the girl was even scared of her boyfriend; watch the last scene. I don’t think the lady was ready to leave her overprotective guy- she was too scared of him. She would definitely not go for Rudeboy, though that should be the case. Imagine, see the way she immediately detached herself from Rudeboy when Jim Iyke and his men came to deal with him; ‘Chai, every man to your tents, O Israel ba!
LOCATION/ABOUT THE VIDEO
The video was shot indoor; first at the GYM and later at a Club house. Like you know, I love videos that tell stories and this video certainly told a story. The video is self explanatory.
So, at the beginning of the video, Rude Boy stumbles on a pretty lady at the GYM and immediately falls in love with her. He immediately desires to have her as his woman not minding the fact that she is already in a serious relationship. He approaches her and they start a conversation.
Meanwhile, the lady is never alone as she is always accompanied by her overprotective boyfriend’s bodyguard. The bodyguard sights Rude boy chatting with her, and quickly puts a call through to her overprotective boyfriend- Jim Iyke. He shows up at the GYM in few seconds but keeps his cool that day.
Another day, Jim Iyke and his girlfriend are partying with friends at the club. Rudeboy sights the lady and demands a dance from her, ignoring those around her, including her boyfriend. The furious boyfriend immediately orders his bodyguards to throw him out. His girlfriend is not pleased with his attitude, so she walks out of the party and goes to the restroom to get herself for some seconds. On her way out of the club, she drops some information for Rudeboy with the club security men.
Both Rudeboy and the lady hangout and dine together but the lady’s boyfriend- Jim Iyke locates them. He immediately orders his bodyguards to deal with Rudeboy. Meanwhile, the girl just stands aside helplessly watch his new love bird being beaten. Hmmm, Lol, that is what you call “Every man to your tents, O Israel”
VIDEO PRODUCTION
Great video. Terrific lightning. I love the fact that the lady was not wearing an heavy make up at the GYM like some ladies that say they can’t do without making up.
I love the video. Clean video, good shots, unique concept; quality production. Also the characters were very expressive- Jim Iyke really acted the over protective guy well, Paul acted the “guy that love struck” well. Also, One could tell from the lady’s face that she was really scared of the boyfriend.

• There seems to be a resemblance in the location Rudeboy was thrown out for trying to dance with the lady when her boyfriend was on seat and the location the lady asked him to meet her. what do you think?
