BEATZ……
This of course is a hit maker

THE REVIEW

You just have to love this video; did you see the way Mr. P staggered when the masked guy wanted to hit him? Mhen that was on point and the timing was accurate. This is certainly a great song with a great concept. Mr.P brought out another skill- ‘acting’ aside the usual (dancing and singing) skills we are familiar with.

You know, I have seen Mr.P’s acting skills in a couple of comedy skits but none compared to this. Even though ‘to be continued’ was written at the latter part of the song, I believe that P classic records with this gigantic tune is trying to tell a story to the world and we are anxiously waiting to hear it.

Lyrically this song is on point. The lines flow well and depend on the previous lines for continuity. Hardly are there disjointed lines, especially in the hook. View it here

“Say I need you tonight. I want you tonight
Would you come down straight to my room? There’re so many things we can do”

Though the song is over 5 minutes, but there are just two verses in the song with repeated hook and choruses.

What is the song ‘My Way’ really about

My way by Mr.P is no doubt a love song about Mr. P’s ex lover. Peter tells his ex-lover that if she decides to stay or go, he would still find his way, this he emphasizes in the chorus

“But if you leave me, I can find my way. Girl if you leave me, I can find my way (OH OH)
But if you need me, I can find my way. Girl if you need me, I can find my way”

However, the story takes a different shape as the ex-lover is seen monitoring Mr.P and his activities. The night Mr.P proposed to his new girlfriend, his ex-lover was there and that same night, she took his soul into a desert. They were shut out from the rest of the world. The only people in the desert were his ex-girlfriend as well as some masked men (most definitely acted by Mr. P’s dancers) she brought to haunt him.

(Now we really can’t tell if their separation was a peaceful one or the reverse, but one thing that is certain is that the lady is yet to move on. However Mr. P vows to stay with her if she needs him, but would always find his way if she leaves as him well. )
Mr. P sang mostly in Pidgin

Beat: Standard! I totally love this beat. Now the intro may have that of Mario Winas’ “I don’t wanno know” tune but the delivery of the song was not done using the tune, it has nothing in connection with the song. Try singing Mario’s song with this song.

Video: This video is capable of making you fall in love with the audio of the song. The video was shot outdoor, a place looking like a desert. The video no doubt tells a story where his ex shows up in the middle of the night and takes him into the desert empty of other people in the world but filled with demons to haunt him; apparently, his ex-girlfriend is stil unresolved about their break up. Mr. P runs and runs in the desert hampering for safety.

I love the effects, especially the one created when the masked guy wanted to hit Mr.P with his weapon. Also, the horrifying background voices. I also love the way Mr. P dodged it/staggered. This video is clean. The concept is terrific. Great lightning as well. It is interesting to watch; it is certainly one video you will always love to keep watching.

Costume: their costumes synchronized with the story they are telling. Mr. P was haunted and was definitely in no happy mood, hence the reason for the black colour. It is either you are the one that is haunting someone or they are haunting you. So great costume! Mr. P’s outfit was like that of Zoro’s costume.

Just thinking
• Why was it difficult for him to say the word “enough” clearly (me, I don give enough, everybody run), is there something he is hiding?
• Those Mr.P’s eyes were intended to be so creepy, but I think there would have been more creativity if the eyes were given another colour
I love this video, you just have to love everything about this “My Way” video by Mr. P

HAPPY VALENTINE FROM US!

HAPPY VALENTINE FROM US AT OGEFASH BLOG!

VALENTINE is here again and the atmosphere is that of love and the desire to be loved (you understand now). ‘Valentine’ is all about appreciating the people you care about the most or a day some people set aside to appreciate their loved ones. Fine, we show love to people everyday, but the idea is just to have fun and do something different from your routine

Anyway, some people already have someone special to celebrate the day with. Some will be celebrating it with their significant order.

While some don’t have some one to celebrate with. But nothing to worry about, if you are in this category, you can always val other people not just families, friends or your significant order. I remember when I was serving in the North, Kano precisely, on valentine’s day, I took a certain amount and split into different denominations, so I gave out to the children around me, and guess what, they were all happy; the experience was thrilling.

Just do something spectacular for another person, put a smile on someone’s face; don’t be left out.

Or better still, don’t dull, look to your left/right, there is that babe who is waiting for you to val her #winks. Common, never let her go, do the needful. Just say “Be my val” download (7)

Or just close your eyes, before you open it there will be a suuuuuuuuurprise gift; just believe. And if you don’t see the gifts when you open your eyes, just take yourself out joor, make yourself feel special too. Probably you just had a recent break up and you feel extremely lonely- gbagbe osi joor, rise up and give yourself a nice treat and be happy; and who knows, something good might come out of it

And for all the ladies who have shopped for beautiful red dresses, just ensure you don’t go all red today (+shoe+bag+accessory etc), so you don’t look like ‘Tomato’. In essence, you could wear a red dress but complement your outfit with other colours of bag, shoe, accessories and so on

I am out of here, just ensure you give someone a nice treat; make someone feel special.
HAPPY VALENTINE!

Wishes For Nigeria
Nigeria is a blessed nation, governed and inhibited by humans short of perfection. Though perfection is arguably unattainable, I really hope that every Nigerian awakens to the fact that our individual actions count. A positive change or action in your own little space goes a long way in affecting Nigeria as a whole. Be the change you want to see!

President For One day
Uhmmm… That’s a tricky one. But a one day rule can’t fix damages of decades. But I could see to it that a certain amount be allocated to certain states who have been owing their workers salaries for months. I will put the necessary checks and sanctions in place. (That too can’t be achieved in one day)

BLACK MIRROR!

Liberian model DEDDEH HOWARD after countless rejection from agencies because they already had “A Black Model”, recreated her own version of high-profile campaigns and tagged the photo project “BLACK MIRROR”.

In her own words:- “For this project I decided to re-shoot several of the inspiring and famous campaigns out there and try to show what they could look like with a black model. Teaming up with Photographer Raffael Dickreuter it was a big challenge to reverse engineer and re-shoot these images and get as close as possible to the original. Even though it was a big challenge it was important and necessary to do it.

“Yesterday at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show you could see the same pattern you can see at New York fashion week or any other famous fashion events: black girls are almost invisible. There is the odd one here and there, but it always feels like an afterthought. We live in a globalized world with nowadays many interracial couples producing mixed babies. Why can’t the big brands not embrace our diversity more and give all of us visibility?

“The visibility on these commercials and billboards matter as much as having elected a first black President. The next generation can only get inspired and reach for the stars themselves if they believe they can do it too. For that reason diversity in ad campaigns is in my opinion much more important than you might think. The same goes for representation in movies and politics as well, but that’s a different discussion.

“There are Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell and maybe Iman, but they are the exception to the rule. With this Black Mirror project I hope to show the world that it is time for all of us to be seen. Just like a Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss or Candice Swanepoel gets to travel the world, shoot the most amazing campaigns and live an exciting life to inspire young girls, let’s give the next generation something to believe in. In conclusion I’m personally fighting for more diversity especially more black race to be seen on billboards, movies, TV commercials, advertisements etc as much as the white race. We need a diverse amount of inspirations for all of us.”

5 SOUNDTRACKS FROM BEAUTY AND BEAST TV SERIES THAT WILL MAKE YOU YEARN FOR LOVE…

This TV series may have come and gone, but some things have endeared fans to the series. It is one TV series that can’t be easily forgotten by fans. I so much love the series that I keep rewatching despite how lengthy it is. As a matter of fact, the last time I watched it was January 2018.

Aside the obvious love angle delivered flawlessly and played by Vincent Keller (Jay Ryan) and Catherine Chandler (Kristin Kreuk), another thing that can not go unnoticed in the 2012-2016 series is the plethora of soundtracks used in the song. Infact, the soundtracks has exceeded that of the twilight series acted by both Robert Pattinson (Edward cullen) and Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan)

The soundtracks were more than hundred and it took me days leading to weeks to finally pick this five as the best and the most populur tunes from the series. You just have to love these songs. In no particular order, they are

Beyonce’s light skin boosted her career!

Mathew Knowles, father of American Singer Beyonce, a.k.a Queen B, says her light skin has helped her to become more famous. Knowles has been speaking about how racism is still an issue in the music industry, and why he believes his daughter’s music career has been raised by her being a light skinned black woman.

Knowles who managed Queen B’s career up until 2011, was discussing how colourism affects aspiring artists trying to break into the mainstream. He argued that it’s ‘no accident’ that most black women played on the radio have ‘lighter skin in common’.

Speaking to Ebony magazine on his experiences of racism in the industry, he said: ‘When it comes to Black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids [Beyonce and Solange], and what do they all have in common?
The reporter replied: ‘They’re all lighter skinned.’

‘Do you think that’s an accident?’ Knowles asked. When the journalist exclaimed: ‘Of course not’ Knowles quipped: ‘So you get it!’

Knowles is promoting his book Racism: From the Eyes of a Child, which discusses race relations from his perspective growing up in the deep South, and his account of some of the most violently racist moments in recent US history. He also admitted that he thought former wife and Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, was white when he first met her, because ‘the shade of your Blackness was considered important’ when he was growing up.

‘In the deep South in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, the shade of your Blackness was considered important. So I, unfortunately, grew up hearing that message,’ he continued.

‘I actually thought when I met Tina, my former wife, that she was White.

Later I found out that she wasn’t, and she was actually very much in-tune with her Blackness.

He explained: ‘I had been conditioned from childhood. With eroticized rage, there was actual rage in me as a Black man, and I saw the White female as a way, subconsciously, of getting even or getting back. There are a lot of Black men of my era that are not aware of this thing.’

Knowles previously managed Destiny’s Child and Solange Knowles. Beyoncé welcomed twin Rumi and Sir Carter last summer with husband Jay-Z.

The pair already share six-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
