THE REVIEW
Eminem released the visuals to his popular track featuring music screen goddess “Beyoncé” some weeks back. Beyoncé was the vocalist. The reflective nature of this song will make you want to turn to your radios, televisions, discs to listen to the song over and over again; both the audio and video. The video is very simple but spectacular.

“Walk on water” is quite a lengthy song but with full one-off lines for the three verses. The song is about 5minutes- 20 seconds. Lyrically, this song is good. Each line flows well into another line. Lyrically, Eminem is always on point; check most of his past songs.

So what really is the song “Walk on water about?
What the song is about has already been summarised by Queen Beyoncé in the chorus. The song is about the flaws and imperfection of humans even if they are notable figures, and because they are not God, they are bound to make mistakes as well as let people down. At some point in verse 3, Eminem also talked about his challenges in his music career and how he is not been celebrated the way he was some years back. This he said in the line “There was a time I had the world by the balls, eating out my palm; every album song I‘as spassing the fuck out on. And now I’m getting clowned & frowned on…” There is this voice of fear that his fans are losing interest in his music or perhaps his fan base has reduced.
The reflective tune is capable to make people reflect on their acts. Eminem’s facial expression and body gesture tallied well with the theme of his song.

Beat
Great instrumental; one of the best beat of 2017

Video
I just love this concept, extremely unique, simple but spectacular. Most of his videos are always simple anyway, but then, I think he should have featured Beyonce in the video.

Eminem made it quite interesting to watch because every line he spewed out, he demonstrated, and his facial expression tallied with the message of the song and the reflective beat. I also love that part where he and his several emulations where seated in a classroom and typing with the old typewriter.

Location
The video was shot indoor in an empty auditorium; the only figure in the auditorium was Eminem, where he took to the dark stage to perform using a long standing mic.

There is also the other room, where Eminem and his emulations are seated and typing using the old type writer.

Thumbs up
On the floor are sheets of papers he already typed and discarded. This I would say basically relates with the theme of the song “Imperfection”

Costume
No doubt, the costume synced well with the message of the song, but he could have gone for another option…

Just wondering

• Could have gone for another colour of costume, even if it is not something flashy; the background was already dark, so why were a dark costume.

• At some point I was wondering why what he was just typing meaningless words, but then towards the end of the video, I could decipher some sensible words
• Wondering why beyoncé didn’t appear in the visuals.
• We don’t know what is under the monument, is there a part 2
