Advert Review
Concept
An hilarious advert with a great concept that may be hard to fault; though how realistic is it for a working class guy to be on the phone from morning till evening. Both were of best acts especially where Abdulateef said “My mummy is praying, say amen”. Also, when Iya rainbow said “Mr announcer, I am praying, you are announcing, oya, you too, bring your head for prayer”

What is the advert about?
A woman has unlimited airtime spends the whole day praying for her son after he purchases a lot of gifts for her. As a matter of fact, he wakes him with her call and conberses non-stop. The discussion lingers till he the close of work and even till his time out with some friends. So, I was thinking his mother was also going to put him to bed, afterall she woke him up, and with an unlimited credit talked all through.
The theme
The theme of the advert basically is that with Airtel network, you can speak as long as you want.
Just thinking
• It could have been better if it was translated
• The guy did not eat that food, na for decoration ni?
• It should have been subtitled for those that do not understand Yoruba language.
• The guy didn’t smile at all, from the beginning to the end!

  1. I spent four years trying EVERYTHING in Online Dating, and through a huge amount of trial and error, I produced a system that I will share for you. This book will take you, step by step, through everything you need to know to double, triple or even quadruple the number of women you meet online.

  2. I think you should have unveiled the real name of Amaka to us just like you did to other cast.
    Thanks John Ike

    • Hi John Ike, thanks for pointing it out. Amaka’s name in the Airtel “Mother in Law series” is Benita Essien~ you can follow @bennyessien. Her name has been included in the article. We are so sorry we intially ommitted her name in the advert, we did not have her name, but now we do.
We love U #Always on Ogefash Blog.

  3. The best of all adverts . I love it so so much. It shows the love of mothers for thier children. She does not care about the airtime but her child’s welfare . Typical of Nigerian mothers . I love it!!! Might migrate to airtel
