SYNOPSIS TO A DEADLY AFFAIR
Two different couples aside being neighbours are best of friends as well. Mary (AUSTIN HIGHSMITH) is a librarian in a school and she is married to Charlie (ALAN POWELL) who renovates people’s houses. While Susan (VALERIE AZLYNN), a criminal defence attorney is married to Trevor (LUKE EDWARDS). Mary’s husband- Charlie is hardly home likewise Trevor’s wife lawyer. On Mary and Charlie’s wedding anniversary, Charlie is not home but Trevor stops by to keep her company. In their celebration, Mary gets a little tipsy, kisses Susan’s husband- Trevor and she is almost at the point of sleeping with Trevor. She gets hold of herself and tells Trevor to leave their house, but Trevor still wants to have more of her aside the kiss and wouldn’t take no as an answer. Two nights after, Charlie is seen dead in the house he is renovating. Who is responsible? Could it be Trevor? Or is there something untold? Find out in the plot.

PLOT
Mary (Austin Highsmith) is trying to get away from her chaser but us unable as the chaser points a gun at her back and takes her back into the house she had escaped from

Two weeks earlier
Mary is partly drunk and is about to have sex with her neighbor/best friend’s husband-Trevor (Luke Edwards) when she gets hold of herself. But Trevor is yet to get hold of himself as he pleads with her to still have sex with him. Mary turns him down and blames her attitude on the excessive drink. Trevor leaves the house disappointed afterwards.

Mary is upset with her husband- Charlie (Alan Powell) for forgetting their wedding anniversary. Mary lies to Charlie that she and Susan have eaten the anniversary meal she had prepared. Mary notices some scratches at Charlie’s back and asks about it, but he tells her a lie

Both Mary and Charlie dine with Susan and her husband Trevor. At the dining table, Charlie discovers that Mary didn’t have dinner with Susan the other night like she had said. Charlie is upset with Mary for telling him lies. Mary tells him the truth that in anger, she did throw the meal in the bin. Mary begs her husband again and he accepts her apology.

Crystal (Lorna Street Dopson) stops by at her brother’s house- Charlie to check on him and his wife Mary. Crystal feels that both Mary and her brother- Charlie are having some marital issues and she asks Mary to let her in on the issue but Mary replies her that they are fine. Crystal suspects that Mary is having an affair with someone else but Mary replies her no. As soon as Crystal leaves the house, Mary gets a worrisome call from her husband- Charlie. She rushes to the house he is renovating and finds him dead. Mary call the cop, they examine the crime scene while detective Malone (J. Teddy Garces) questions Mary.

Crystal accuses Mary of killing her brother- her late husband- Charlie. Charlie’s mum- Mrs Saunders (Sharon Garrison), tries to console her daughter in law, though they are both mourning. She tells Mary not to pay attention to Crystal’s accusation. At the funeral service of late Charlie, Mary sights a familiar female face. Unable to get through to her, Mary requests the guest book from her mother in law and scrolls down the names of the guests at late Charlie’s funeral service.

Detective Malone stops by at Mary’s residence to interrogate her. Detective Malone sees Mary as a major suspect behind her husband’s death. Susan (Valerie Azlynn) walks in on them and stops the detective from further questioning. Susan offers to be Mary’s lawyer and promises to help her out of her predicament.

Mary goes to see the principal- Jones (Elliot Grey) of the school she works in and requests that he allows her resume back to work the next day. Mr. Jones tries to persuade Mary to stay off from work for more days at considering what had befallen her, buT Mary replies him that she is lonely and would want to return to work.

Mary is having a nightmare where she sees her late husband kissing another woman.

Mary tells Susan that she suspects her late husband of having an affair with one of the guests- Cassandra James (Amber Landrum) at his funeral service. before his death. She tells Susan that she plans on visiting her to ask her questions. With the help of Susan, Mary is able to get Cassandra’s address. When she visits Cassandra, she lets Mary know that her relationship with her late husband is strictly business and nothing else. Mary returns home and finds Trevor already inside her house. This scares her. Trevor tells her to move on with her life since her husband is dead. He again expresses his immense feelings to her.

Mary is alone when she hears some weird sounds. She senses some foul play. She grabs a statue with the intention of smashing the intruder in her house. She sees no one but a broken statue. She calls the police attention to this and they rush down to her house. Susan walks in on them and again gets mad at the detective for showing up at Mary’s house without a warrant. Mary tells her about the incident and Susan shows concern. Detective Malone advises Mary to stay in the hotel but Susan suggests that she stays at their place instead.

Trevor returns home late and peeps at Mary while having a shower. This arouses him as he rushes to his wife- Susan to make love to her.

The next morning, Mary sees both Trevor and Susan and appreciates them for their concern

Mary is back at her duty post. A student returns one of the library books to her. He asks Mary if she is responsible for her husband’s death, but Mary is thrown back by the question. She sights late Charlie’s sister- Crystal and believes she is the one spreading the rumour. Mary catches up with her and pleads with them to go somewhere private to discuss. Reluctantly, Crystal agrees to speak to her. They drive down to Mary’s place but at arrival, they sight detective Malone. The detective brings out a small knife and tells Mary that they saw it at the crime scene. He tells her that they have checked finger prints and its hers. Mary calls her lawyer- Susan, Susan warns her never to do anything without a representation.

At Mary’s place of work, Principal Jones gives her an indefinite leave because of the negative news spreading round about her. Everybody thinks she is responsible for her husband’s death. Principal Jones, tells Mary to come for the school board meeting. At the meeting, Mary tries to vindicate herself from the disturbing news making round the corner but Susan shows up in anger. She slaps Mary accusing her of sleeping with her husband Trevor. She accuses Mary of being the reason her husband packed out of the house.

Mary fixes the broken owl statute back. Detectve Malone on the request of Mary, turns up at her residence. Mary tells the detective all about Trevor and his weird acts. The detective is unhappy that Mary didn’t mention it earlier.
Mary tries to contact Susan but her number is unreachable. She drops an offline message. Mary visits her late husband’s tomb to pay homage to him. She also sees Mrs. Saunders and they both converse. Meanwhile, Susan calls Mary back after receiving her offline message. Susan tells Mary that the police came looking for Trevor. Susan tells Mary that her husband is innocent.

Crystal is with her mum- Mrs. Saunders. She blames herself for her brother’s death.

Mary visits the house late Charlie is renovating and sees Trevor. He again expresses his feelings to Mary and tries to force her to do the same. This terrifies Mary. From Trevor’s obsession about her, Mary assumes he is the one responsible for her husband’s death but Trevor laughs at that thought. In anger, Mary tries to hit Trevor with an object but she is overpowered by him. Susan walks in at the nick of time and saves Mary from Trevor. Susan shoots her husband.

Crystal and Detective Malone are at Charlie’s Tomb. Crystal narrates to the detective what she had seen before her brother’s death. They both head to the house late Charlie was renovating before his death to meet Mary.

Trevor attempts to harm Mary again as she dials Crystal’s number and Susan shoots him again. Just before his death, he gives Mary a ring which Mary quickly identifies as his husband’s missing ring before his death. She discovers the truth that Susan is the person behind her husband’s death. Susan tries to kill Mary but she runs away immediately. Susan chases after her. Detective Malone saves her and afterwards arrests Susan. Mary thanks detective Malone and Crystal for saving her life.
