A Toyota Hiace bus carrying about 17 students back to Kwara State from Kano State had
a head~on collision with an articulated DAF truck which resulted in the death of the students.
The students were returning home to their parents after the successful completion of their POST UTME screening in Kano State.
Infact, they were already close to their various homes when this accident happened. They were around Bacita Junction on the Ilorin Jebba Road.
The Governor of Kwara State~ Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq saddened by the incident described it as one that could have been avoided.
Abdulrahman condoled with the parents and families of the students who died and prayed to God to avert such calamity in the future.
This is indeed a painful accident; ah, very promising students. May God help drivers in Nigeria and may he help the country too.
May the students’ souls rest in peace in Jesus Name, Amen.
